Why I'm Here

This is an outlet for me, but also a way for me to connect with others and share wisdom I've learned along my journey, as well as resources I've found invaluable.

I'm recently divorced.  I have a 3 year old son.  I'm living 3 hours from my family, but in the area of my ex-wife's family.  I've been attending personal therapy/mental health counseling since August of 2020.  August of 2021 was when I found out my then-wife wanted out.  Things kind of kicked into overdrive for awhile, and now almost a year later I've been able to slow down, reflect, and decide what direction I want things to go.

I understand this is an imperfect world, and pain and disappointment exist.  But if I can help one person in their journey, or nudge one person back onto the road of personal growth, recovery, accountability, then it is worth it to me.  You're worth it.

My goal here is to show that it's okay to struggle, it's okay to fail, it's okay to need help.  That's what makes us human.  And it's also to show that you can go through some really difficult stuff, honor yourself, and come out net positive on the other side.

Something I'd like to note:  I am not using this platform to slander anyone's name.  We all make decisions that we think are the best decisions for us at the time.  I don't want to take that away from anyone.  Learning and forging a better path going forward is the key.  We cannot remain ignorant.  This is also not professional advice or a substitute for therapy/counseling.  I am a strong supporter of these resources and encourage you to reach out to someone about any concerns you have regarding your own situations and mental health.
